Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar was founded on 11th February, 1977. Today it has eight faculties, whose work is based on Bologna principles.

Since June 2015, the University has been an accredited institution, and at the same time the only institution of higher education in Herzegovina-Neretva Canton that is fully integrated – which is a transparent proof of the quality of the teaching process organized at the University. Univerzitet "Džemal Bijedić" u Mostaru osnovan je 11.02.1977. godine.

Agro-Mediterranean Faculty

Agro-Mediterranean Faculty started working in the 1997/1998 academic year, as a member of Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar. It was founded out of need for young experts who would, in agro-ecological conditions in sub-Mediterranean part of Bosnia&Herzegovina, develop production of specific fruits, wine, vegetables and flowers. It was also necessary to follow introduction of ecological principles in agronomy, in order to preserve the environment.

Faculty of Economy

The Faculty of Economy of Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar was founded in 1976. Its primary mission is education and training of high-quality professionals who can meet requirements set by modern businesses; scientific and research work at the state level, but also in the regional and international context, as well as cooperation with scientific institutions, government and non-government institutions and economy.

Faculty of Humanities was founded in 1999, as a member of Dzemal Bijedic UnIversity of Mostar. Teaching process is organized at all of its departments in line with Bologna principles, in the two cycles as 4+1, which means that after completion of all exams, a student can enroll in the second cycle or master studies.

Faculty of Information Technologies

FIT, a member of Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar, has been developing and growing for eighteen years. We offer modern and well equipped classrooms, and comfortable premises for studying and social activities of our students. Due to the fast pace of changes in the field of IT, this Faculty has been adapting to these changes respectively. Our present and future is not imaginable without information technologies, so be a part of that future.

Faculty of Civil Engineering

Faculty of Civil Engineering was founded in 1978. Our graduates have been contributing to the growth of construction industry, and many of them work successfully in European countries and worldwide. The flexibility of our curricula (in line with EUCEET) enables fast adjustment to the economy demands, through developing of skills and expertise. Quality of the program is recognized on both national and international level. Compatibility with similar curricula in EU countries enables student mobility and exchange.

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was founded in 1959. It started as a Postsecondary technical school, and since 1977 it became a member of the newly established Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar. Today it is placed in the University campus in Mostar. A new faculty building was built in 2011, with modern classrooms, laboratories and equipment.

Faculty of Education

Teacher Training Faculty was founded in 1950. Students from all parts of Bosnia-Herzegovina and from the neighboring countries study at the Teacher-Training Faculty. In addition to 45 full-time employees, around 50 professors work at the Faculty, including associates from the Universities of Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Bihać, Belgrade, among which are well- known names in the higher education of the ex-Yugoslavia region.

Law Faculty

Law Faculty was founded in 1976. The Faculty organizes and performs a teaching process for the 1st and 2nd cycle, in line with Bologna principles. A 3rd cycle program is to be offered soon. The Faculty is well equipped. It has a classroom for courtroom simulations and an advocacy training premises, so students can use the acquired knowledge through practical work.
